Robin has been a beekeeper since 1956, taking over the family beekeeping business which started at The Meads in Wimbish, Essex, over a hundred years ago. The original English black honeybee Apis mellifera was crossed with the Italian (a good worker) and later in the 1970's the grey Caucasian, for its propolis qualities.
Robin runs his 600 beehive colonies at apiary locations in Essex, Suffolk, and Cambridgeshire and breeds his bees specifically addressing conditions in the UK. Robin’s experience enables him to produce a range of qualities and behaviours in nuc’s, and
Honey Bees available.
